It was the big Scotty birthday show, and that was no big surprise to any of us.   Johnny needs a pep talk as he needs to find a new home.  We lost our friend from Capitol Hill and Floyd is hitting us hard.  At least the Mets keep doing well although they did lose tonight.   We had no guests and ended a bit early to let Andy catch the train.  The sqeeky wheel still needs a bit of grease.  It was Deliciozo as usual and it was good.  Bill always did like those garlic knots.   He'll miss them and well miss him.

We had the traditional Scotty To Lay Me Down and it was pretty sweet. I know we played other song but I forget them at this point.  WE had trouble getting the Eyes going but once we started over it was pretty good.  I like that Honky Tonk Women.   It's a lot of fun.  Andy sang it well.  I liked the Talking Heads thing we did, I was playing the congas and had a good time with it.

Hey man, how do I get a copy of that CD anyway?? I would've loved to be there, but was a bit preoccupied at the time. We11, the Floyd that came to visit us was definitely not Pink!! We made it through OK, though. Hope everything is going well with all. Take care.

The Scotty B-day Jamboree had some fine moments. Actually, the Honky Tonk Woman was one of the finest moments in my history with Deadstein. It was so good that I even saw Kevin sporting a grin of glee. This should be shared with the world. I hope the Gind's got a chance to tack that take on the page as a sound file. Thanks for being so much fun. See you in two weeks.

OK Dave....Take me to the river, heads style, next week. I love the New Haven line, although getting a cab was impossilble and I had to hoof it to GCT. Just barely made my train. On a side note I think the Dave/Larry switcheroo should be reseverd for songs far less complicated than Terrapin. I would like to play drums also but for the overall good of the music I think we should pretty much stick to our own stuff. I miss LG on guitar and Dave on the sticks every time they switch....OK I said it. Whatever.

You know, the seventh sign of the apocalypse is Dave becoming Moral Officer of Deadstein. I'm just kidding. I couldn't be more thrilled with Dave's justified enthusiasm. -- Freak Fever...catch it !!! I share Brotpen's excitement and pride over the Honky Tonk Women; sometimes Manifest Destiny is the only explanation, but in this case, I think the explanation is Trister...so tasty & nutritious too! L.L.Brent seems to have made some sort of spontaneous breakthrough with his singing. I noticed a distinct and deliberate change in the mechanics of his vocals. It was much more relaxed, and 'daring' ornamentally. It made a difference, positively I was not happy with my playing or sound. I put on new strings and turned too many knobs on my gear, it just didn't feel good. Next week I need to take some time to adjust my set-up in order to maximize my potential constructive power. My displeasure with my ease-of-play and quality, I blame on Freakboy. Whether I like it or not, Freakboy has been a coach of-sorts, or at least a psychedelic-sonic mirror to me, in respect to my playing. I do credit him with helping me work on my style and ability to use my unconscious as a technique. He gives me real-time analysis, and sans him slamming his fist into his palm in tempo, it usually is a positive thing. His hollow ghost-like attendance recently, has left me Rocky without Mick. Freakboy's mantra of ultra-selfishness is a double-edged sword. His actions do effect other people, I know he refuses to accept that, but it is reality. Freakboy needs to re-boot.

What specifically is hot about the Fire on the Mountain? I need to know because the Giants still have Kent Graham leading them to the promised land. But seriously what is so good about the Fire. The beat, groove, lead, singing, team play, etc. In quiring minds want to know.
