The date of the next jam is scheduled for Tuesday, June 5, 2001 at at Carroll's Instrument Rental on 41st street between 8th & 9th Avenues but very close to 9th., 7pm - 11pm

It was pretty good night for a typical night a Carroll's.  It runs hot and cold in that room.   Kevin spills coffee and we had Donuts.  Doh!, Sprinkles.  Michael of Carpetsteen was the only guest as the so called Ziggy never made it.  One thing that did make it was the entire band for the whole night.  That doesn't happen often.  The room sounded a little better than usual.  After fixing Riches Mic chord the PA seemed to kick.  The guy with a half eaten ear put what is remaining of that flap from his temple and put it to a monitor and figured out Riches problem.  After that the PA and the singing sounded good.  Banjo was in raucous fashion especially during the Black Throated Wind.

Several good moments including a cooking Playing jam and a hot Stranger.  Even the Back into Playing turning into a fun extended jam.

Gots-to-Go - Till next Tuesday.

I forgot about all that Hey Pocky Way Stuff. Andy made the great observation that he could be playing the song to come next for five minutes and get no reaction out of us freaks but as soon as he Start Hey Pocky Way we all jump in and start jamming like a bunch of Pavlov's Dogs. It was so funny and yet sadly true.

so, if we put Hey Pocky Way on the list, or bring a copy of it in for folks to learn and play, then it will rot...is that it? I had a relationship with a girl like that in college. IT SUCKED!

Sorry, I couldn't help myself.

Larry hold onto that 10/16/74 thought...Andy is gonna look.

Andy, why just 3 drum kits? Why not 7 and a set of conga? WE can rename ourselves the Pocky Percussion Way and bang on drums all night.

I take umbrage with your comment. By 1970, Jerry was almost fully formed as a guitarist...he only had to tweak his style now and again, but by 1968, he was a monster.

when you join the Deadstein vine...look at my vast collection of Primal Dead from 67-69, and make some selections when it is your turn. They will get the picture.

But it would be a nice idea of some of you could listen to the Dead for a change, instead of just Deadstein. I was so surpised when you boys whipped out a Spanish Jam to perfection....I had no idea you were capable of it. You have not played it in the 9 months I have been with you all. Now if you can do a "Feeling Groovy Jam" a "Mind Left Body Jam", a "Tiger Jam" a "Philo Stomp" and a "Meltdown" we would have something.

Mr Weenz sir...do not come down with a mandolin, cause this bunch of f*ckers will not turn down their instruments low enough for you to be heard. This is DEADstein, where we play loud enough to wake the dead. AND, even if we play low for a song, as soon as the boys take their 1st solos, they will leave their instruments loud, others will compensate, the drummers will pound, and the singers will have to scream to keep up. A mandolin will only torment those of us who wish to hear its dulcet tones, but will be unable to twixt the sound of burning metal. Better to wait for acoustic night, which comes soon for Gindoff's birthday. he picks an all acoustic set list, and you have a better chance of being heard that night.
