Crush, Freak, Destroy
Notes:
  • It was such a weird night it deserves an extensive write up.  I hope I'm up to the task.  Anyway, Larry called me at 3:00 telling me he's got the stomach flu and is feeling really shitty.  He wanted to change the night to Wednesday, but I couldn't becuase of a meeting I had which was cancelled, so he tried to tough it out.  Kevin was nervous about the spread of Larry's germs but I think we all try to at least give it the old college try.
  • Knowing his situation Larry called in the backup of John Spitz.  It was a good move but because of the last minute nature of it all, John could get equipment so Larry brough him his real backup stuff which didn't help poor John.  Trying to play out of Brotman's amp, I would have walked out earlier!  Actually, as we all say, you have to appreciate John's effort.  Itw as very kind of him to come down, and according to Dave, one or two moments of singing in the Brokedown were as good as it gets.
  • There was such a weird karma in the room it was unbelievable
Drummers think our wrong notes are dissonant. You have to love this comic found by Penny Jones for us.  It's classic and couldn't be more appropriate.

Thanks for the kind words, Larry...you are truly generous. Yes, that guitar was cruel and even Larry's amp couldn't save it. Not to mention the excessive pre-jam intake...oh, well, it happens. OK, the brokedown was nice, and the Dew had a moment or two...nice leads Gind. Anyway, thanks for the invite and hopes that next time works out a bit more smoothly.

Here one for the cosmic synchronicity. I called Scott at 3pm last Tuesday to tell him I got hit with some kind of stomach flu Sunday night from which by Tuesday afternoon, I realized when I couldn't get up off one of the couches we mercifully have at work, that I wasn't goin to make the jam. Not being one to fast on Yom Kippur, this was the least amount of food I've ever eaten during a 72-hour period. Anyway, things are back to normal and I'll see you next Tuesday. Feel better, Larry.
