The date of the next jam is Tuesday, October 3rd.  I cannot play the Tuesday after that, October 10 because of my monthly MCMUA meeting.

There were guests for once!!!  Michael of infamy, Scott's cousin-in-law Dave and my Carpetsteen drumming buddy Ron were all in attendance to witness a hot and frantic night of Deadstein.  The was a hoot and a howl from the peanut gallery for some of the hotter moments.  All I can say is, "Ouch, did anyone else have the meatloaf?"

Lots of good hot jamming, once again we finished Kevin's very creative setlist with time to spare.  The quick dinner food probably helped with that.  Boy does my stomach hurt.  Did anyone else have the chicken gyro?

Larry had a great Comes a Time lead and he let his hair down for the Looks Like Rain.  Snappy-5-string was once again singing his heart out during many a song.  Raising his hands in the sky reaching for the stars.  Rich was back after a long hiatus and was exuberant about playing.  Andy couldn't make it in for the night for his clutch was not.  Dave was psyched and Kevin wrote the list.  It sounds like Deadstein, tastes like Deadstein and smells like Deadstein.  Therefore, I assume it was Deadstein.  All I can say is I have to go the the bathroom and sign off.  Did anyone else have the Cream of Spinach Soup?

It was a cold rainy day that symbolized the begging of fall.  The Mets losing the Atlanta for the 1 billionth time is another representation that fall has arrived.  Their chase for the division is over as the get set for the wild card.  Jets are 4 and 0 while the Giants are a respectable 3 and 1.  They Olympics are on tape delay.

Later.  Next week we celebrate the 10 year anniversary of Deadstein's first show on 10/9/90.  Get into that scary fact.

Check out the link below: It's a site about playing Dead music with lots of active commentary and forums. It looks like good info on equipment and music used to play the music.

Classic Deadstein this week. Lots of kindness, friendship, comedy & music to go around. Deadstein stayed true to it's M.O. of stepping-up play when guests are in attendance...and there were. While Trister's silence was deafening, the rest of us stirred up a freak-storm that was blinding in intensity and goodness. Brotpen was back after an extended absence and full of moxy and exuberance. He earned the nickname 'Big River Brotpen' (listen to the tape). LLB showcased his 'osmosis' method of guitar study. SpongeBrent rocks. My 2 little rhythmic pals, Sleepy & Grumpy were neither this week. They were energetic and congenial, much to our benefit. TheGind remains our rock, a rock that can't order a kind meal, but a rock none-the-less. PoisyPoisungollo, oh my little PoisyPoisungollo, where did the time go? As Poisy's days with Deadstein dwindle, we can only treasure the Skoppy memories he has left with us. Who can forget the image of Poisy with his trademark DietCoke, belting out a 'Crack O' my Ass' that could crack your ass, or Poisy performing his pre-show ritual of passing out CD's like he was running for office (some kind of freaky office, of course). Fare thee well neighbor. May your diaper-genie never be full and formula-bottle never empty.

Yo Freaks...Thought I fell off the edge of the world did ya! Well you can't get rid a of a true freak that easily. Think of my absence as a freak hibernation. Well where are we? The dot com I was working for was bought by the big player in our industry named Ariba (ARBA for those day traders on the site) and I am keeping my head down while vest my shares. 38 months to go! I also wrangled myself into a role with a territory that includes NYC...but of course you knew that. Going to see Phil next week. Dave, we have front rows seats! Well, I have to go sell something but you will see my sorry ass soon. Peace, Love and Garlic knots ya all.
