Playing next week is Tuesday

High Priests of Freak

Kevin is back and ready to go too bad Andy and Dave weren't.   Andy had work to attend to, damn that Adam Smith, and Dave had a Met Astro game to go to.  Mets lost 5-1 in 10 innings, with Dennis Cook getting the loss and they fall behind the Brave by 1 and one-half games.  Our Andy was replace by a furniture boy Andy from 19th street who plays a mean Dale Shannon Runaway, again.  We had some pretty hot moments and due to eating at 8:15, we had plenty of time for a second set and more and even got out early.  The timing of the evening was great.

I was enjoying the sound of my guitar, straight into the Twim.   I'm watching LInda Ronstadt on Jay Leno as she is fat and looking like Rosanne or the fat chick from Heart.  This was supposedly Larry's last week of his weak effects and he's going to build his sound from the ground up.  Whatever that means but I'll be there spotting him and hoisting him toward the summit.paperfootball.jpg (4750 bytes)

Deliciozo, a beautiful day, what more can you ask for.  We even got in about 18 songs and I have a ziti and meatsauce for tomorrow.  Ices in little cups were a bummer.  Johnny had a hurt back but had some vein bursting moments during the so many roads.  Kevin and I had lots of fun trying to take eachother's eyes out with the paper football provided herein.  Once I showed him the Jon Stenerude way of soccer kicking the ting he got pretty good.  I played no drums whatsoever during the night and Scott put up a good front until the end when garvity started getting the best of him.

I wrote down were are playing next Tuesday but I think we decided Monday would be the best for everyone. Is that True. The song I forgot before Good Lovin' was a Thrill is Gone. Did I forget anyothers? Still, it was a lot of songs.

Adam Smith was a famous economist whose treatise "Wealth of Nations" described the fundemental workings of our capitalist society. I think he's the guy who came up with the "invisible hand" concept which runs and oversee's the workings of a capitalistic economy. Unfortunately for the world, the invisible hand was too invisible and a depression soon hit the world's economies in the 1920's leading people to beleive the government has a role in coordinating the so-called invisible hand. Socialism, Communism and the like soon found their ways into the world but the rest is history. Mr. Gorbacov, tear down that wall even if it means Mr. Trister must work and not drink Vodkaall day.

i just got home from the allman bros at jones beach, they were amazing as always..but more about them on monday....more importantly, as i pass through oceanside to drop my brother in law off, i remember an e-mail i got from mitch m....and stopped ofF at CALICO JACK ROADSIDE STEAK HOUSE and checked out his band (freak flag) and i called brenna (she lives about 1/2 mile away) to come enjoy the festivities..and she did.....anyway it was quite the rock retrospective, mixed in with various dead tunage was a JESUS IS JUST ALRIGHT, COME TOGETHER, HELPLESS as well as a myriad of other rock classics...MORE IMPORTANTLY THOUGH....after about 5 seconds of watching the band i realized that i knew the lead guitarist and the bass player, i was in a "dead" band with them around 1982 give or take a year....and i must admit it was that earlier experience that compelled me to give an immediate and resounding "YESSSSSSS" when he told me about deadstein lo those many years ago.....its a small worl afterall my friends.....i'm glad we are playing monday after missing last week and the extra adrenaline i have from seeing the allmans i'm juiced to play.........and i'll leave you with this.....i've listen to those cd's about 5 times through...some songs 10 times...the music gods were good to us that night my friends
