Next jam is next Monday June 1, 2006 at Carrolls, and it is confirmed.

Back to Carroll's for week 2 with MiniT, Oh Sweet Daddy! We played an entirely different set from the week before showing how we can have a full night's worth of music, after after weeding out the bad stuff.  Well maybe we won't have enough music after we complete the weeding out process which we are good at doing.

Thanks to Coffee for posting the magic.

nice to be posting in the future! Here are my predictions: The Mets have just won 8 in a row...illegal immigrants have decided to return home to their native land, scientists have announced that the hole in the ozone has closed up, and Deadstein rocks!

From Dead Net June 2, 2006 The Wheel is turning almightily fast. Life is loss, but our times have turned sorrowful indeed. It is with very heavy hearts that we must tell you that Vince Welnick passed away today, June 2, 2006. His service to and love for the Grateful Dead were heart-felt and essential. He had a loving soul and a joy in music that we were lucky to share. We grieve especially for his wido Lori, his sister Nancy, and the rest of his family. Our Grateful Dead prayer for the repose of his spirit: May the four winds blow him safely home

That's good stuff, ScottyBoy. It used to be bad enough when I had to say "I.M.J.", But now, since there are so many, I have to say "I.M.A.O.T."

My favorite Vince moment is at Nassau Coliseum, It was after I was done as a taper so I was on Jerry's (Vince's) side even with the stack of speakers on the right side facing the seats I was in and it was Bob's vocal jam during the Estimated jam and all I remember is hearing this terrible saxiphone sound Vince was making. I couldn't believe my ears, but this crap was coming out of the speakers instead of jerry's guitar. It was very memorible for me. I can't say it was a good one though. My other memories of Vince are from some of the bootleg videos my friend Dean did in those days. He used to focus on Jerry, thanks to my teaching but I would always see his foot behind Jerry in the video shot tapping away. Too bad it was an ugly guy's sandle. Once again not a great memory. I do have positive memories of him singing the bab O'Rielly and Tomorrow Never Knows. I enjoyed those contributions.
