Well May 28th was Deadstein.com's D-Day and the more things change the more they stayed the same?  The future's here we are it and we are on our own, the Golden Age of Pericleese (sp?) and thanks for listening and putting up with me and my off-phrasing.  But then and again the the blood wind calls and it's not like anyone phrases anything else too much better.  Nevertheless, it's lots of fun to sing and I really do appreciate all you putting up with it.

We had Stu and Ken in to enjoy us last night.  They were the only guests, please notice the correction to last week's page where Stu brough a Beth to the jam not a Bev, but it's tough to hear.  Short of that we had not guests and were are down to our svelt core five, playing in Hi-Fi or High-Five but playing to make up thhe extra space.  We were playing big and hard last night, that's what she said, and it was good.

Many excellent moments up to the point where Kev dropped his bass and couldn't get anymore sound out of it.  Off to Dave's Sound Repair it goes.   It's too bad we just pulled our first substitute of the Help on the Way which was pretty good and it was over all too soon.  It's a shame.  We were playing well and had another hour to go.  Oh well.  I played my recently fret-dressed Heritage 576 and it played and felt great.  What a pleasure especially during the Help on the Way riff's.  I was really appreciating the setup during that as it's played like butter, the offical condimment of Deadstein. Maybe that explain'skevin's problems.  Rich had problems of his Keyboard going way out off tune but that was solved by the end.

I didn't tape, I assume next week I'll be back into it.  I did get everyone first rough mixes of some of the Bill Siegel night.  The last Banjo tape.  How was it?

Till next Thursday.

In the 23 years I've been playing guitar that has never happened to me. What'cha gonna do? TheGind will take care of me and I've got plenty of spares. Bring on next week.

Despite the unfortunate mishaps (I also lost a shoe on the way home), the dawning of our Golden Age was glorious. The ultra high levels of concentrated freaky playing are somewhat unnerving; it was that good. It felt great on every level. The scary part is that this is just the beginning.

I love Deadstein.

I guess it's nice how there seems to be a lack of Phil and friend fans in Deadstein. Pretty cool. Maybe, Ben Horowitz, the reviewer of the album, has all the attributes to be a part of Deadstein.

cut...paste...match ------- phil still rocks and reviewers everywhere suck, weather you agree or not, one person cannot say "hey that guys a good musician and that other guy isnt, he's a bee and he's a fly, he's a sea musician and the other guys an ocean" ...who cares about anyones opinion, just say something nice already ...or at least "i liked it or i didn't like it, now lets eat"

Yeah, I think the real problem with Phil's Album is probably that Jerry Garcia is not on it. He was the best part of the old Grateful Dead Albums. "Long Live Jerry!"

By the way, I will have a new CD for you all consisting of a Samason, Scarlet --> Estimated --> Eyes --> Beat It On Down the Line, Good Lovin --> Let it Grow --> Good Lovin, Watchtower --> Knockin on heaven's Door. Not quick mixes, but finalized mastered gems that sound great.

First off. Trister it was great to see you this weekend. Awesome Grisman-Garcia style jamming and good BBQ both nights. My nephews had a great time even thought they got locked in you bathroom. Did you ever get it open. Second....Have you heard the new phil album? Gind have you? Yes it is no Built to last or Touch... but it does have a couple of good tunes. Phil was the back bone of the dead and is the driving force of his new band. If it wasn't for phil who would have drowend out all the cheesey bob lick all these years. Anyho.......The Deadstein disc you gave me trister sounds good if you like Dean Martin singing the Grateful Dead... Some really nice instrumental things going on. Next time i am in town lets get Gind the Banjo player up to your house and make it a ho-down...

Later Weenz Vt

Weenz, unfortunately, my the high G string tuning peg, on the neck, broke on my banjo and it apears to be unfixable and therefore I haven't touched a five stringer in over a year. I would like o try a ho-down cause I love that stuff. I do have a Dobro that I suck at but can add something little to the whole affair.
