Playing next week is Thursday due to my Tuesday night meeting..

Jerry Dawg

Monumental Freaks

Another great week of well coordinated Deadstein.  In unprecedented fashion, Deadstein implemented an idea and actually had food delivered at 7:00 for a pre-jam Deliciozo fest.  As big of an advocate as I was for that change I can't say it worked.  It has a lot of short comings and in the end we got maybe two more songs.  I do feel better at this point of the evening with less post-digested muck coming back up the old pipes.

Everyone was there and Andy brought the only guests to be seen.   He brought Randy who is the actual original connection that eventually got Andy to Deadstein.  She was his girlfriend who lived on the first floor of Indian when I lived above her on the third floor.  Well that was years ago, hours ago she discovered a great weakness in Deadstein which is a PA that requires a lot to break through the whirlwind of Freak.  By the end we could hear her sing but in any case it looked like she was having fun.  Caught up in the whirlwind of us all.  Andy brought  his brother Dan which was a lot of fun for Larry as they got involved in some deep dental implant discussion.  He also played drums, quite well may I add, (he's a Trister) for a few songs.  The last of the Trister guests was Jayson Hill who just made sure he got a rice ball.  We all have our priorities.

There were some good moments.  The Cassidy was long, jazzy and spacey.  I had some de-ja vous of first meeting Andy in Randy's Indian Quad room playing a Cassidy on heard bed and me being really impressed with his hammer-ons and pull-offs.  Our transition into Good Lovin' was one of our best ever.

The weather was beautiful.  Absolutly perfect, inside and out.   There was some wind blowing from somewhere that startled me at one point.  See you all next Thursday.

ok, i woke up early, so i figured o'd put my time to good use....i think the food first thing did work....it just needs to be refined a little, lets do it again. i think we got a lot more music in considering how far we got on the list, the midnight hour ( i like when andy sings) and that "A" jam we had going....there was some down time with the string change but i think all in all it was and is a good idea (food first).......nice drumming with you dan trister.

By the way, I know we played at least one song at the end of the night which I forgot to write down. If someone could remember it would be a big help to complete the official record.

Sorry, I keep hitting enter instead of tabbing to comments. Thank you all (especially Scotty) for letting my brother sit in...that was a real kick for me...I don't get to see him that much anymore. Deadstein was friendly and accomodating last night not to mention pretty darn hot. I have not had a chance to listen up yet but it felt great live. F Jordan Weiner.

Thank You Scott. For the record, because the record is becoming big, the guy who hits submit buttons for fun selected the C.C. Rider. It was a low point of the night, almost a throw away. P.S. forgot to set my alarm last night and barely made it into work, I took one of those 4 minute showers. Was in my car with 20 minutes of taking my morning piss. It's odd because I usually wake up after a big meal post jam without a problem. It's part of my routine that I have gotten used to. I'm about to go home to a well marinated salad, much more marinated than last night's. Actually it is last nights. Hopefully the lettuce isn't as limp as Freakboy's you know what. He had some good dancin' last night, it's good to see. How's that Box of Rain, 1/2 step, women, high time and of course the Morning Dew from you guys who got that great CD of 3/24/86 from my master? They are super hot, don't forget about them.

I witnessed a tender, brotherly moment on Tuesday nite between Trister and his little brother, Dan. And I wanted to share it with everyone. Dan was visibly overwhelmed by Deadstein’s weekly feast (no matter what time it comes), and Andy, seeing this, came to his brother’s aid and offered these encouraging words of advice, "Go ahead Dan, take the rice ball and get jiggie with it". It brought a tear to my eye. Overall it was a great classic Deadstein evening, music, guests, & food, all living up to the high freaky standards Deadstein has grown accustomed to. Just gimme next week. One other moment I had yesterday I’d like to share with everyone. I had to go see a customer in Brooklyn, so I drove in. I left the store about 1:30 to go to Ocean Ave & Ave R. I was done at 3:00 and I was hungry. So at Dave’s (The King Of Brooklyn) say-so I headed to Sheepshead Bay to pay a visit to Roll-N-Roaster (one of many food Mecca’s in the Borough of Kings). I prepared properly before going in. Upon entering, you are greeted by a sign behind the register that reads: "You may have cheeze on anything you pleeze." –I am home. My order: Cheezeburger (WD), Roast Beef w/Cheeze, Cheeze Fries & Coke. The cheese is a saucy sauce and the secret ingredient is Salt. What a treat it was, I’m sure you could imagine the joy and exhilaration that the break in my routine gave me. It was a banner day for me, however sad a commentary that really is.

The secret is the salt! In my opinion, Trister is turning Deadstein into an unstoppable band of Dead power that will someday peak and explode for all of New England to witness - I'm calling for a Yale Bowl 2000 show!!! Anyone else in?

I'm sure Mr. "T" picked the CC Rider. If my vote matters, for the record, I vote for Thursday. I thought I provided sufficient notice. Anyway, it's probably a group decision but if you recall the pizza is no good on thursday. Tessi cooks then instead of Franco.

I'm throwing a Dead party tonight at Harrison's Hideaway in Richmond, VA. If you can make it, say hi to the bartender, Jake. He loves the Dead
