The World According To Freaks
I may be missing a song or two or they may be out of order a bit, and although it wasn't the 1st, we were a bunch of April Fools.  There we several jams in different things, I remember 1-4-5 4/4 in A and E, I remember an E / C3m thing, a Roselie McFall thing and probably a few others.

We were helping Kevin celebrate the continuation of his birthday present, Kevin's new Rickenbacker debuted at Deadstein.   Rickenbackers.jpg (19379 bytes)It was an evening where we realized we cannot play the Who but Kevin had to do his best getting that Pete Townsend sound he's been dreaming about since puberty.   It's just not gonna happen through a Twin.  The only thing it did is make Larry nauseous.  Best of luck with that axe, it's a beauty.  Too bad I can't touch it without fouling it up.  I think the odds and ends music was pretty goood. Hey, I'm the one playing bongos and I liked so the rest of the guys had to get some enjoyment out of it.

Andy brought in his heavy duty effects box which took a five (5) foot tumble on the concrete.  It didn't impact it whatsoever.  He still got sound out of that new old thing somehow.  The only thing is did is make Larry nauseous.

While Kevin was getting into his guitar I indulged us with some ba-bah-booey bongos.   I'm amazed I can type because my hands still hurt.  I guess I'm a sap but even that could be fun.  All it did was make Larry nauseous.

All kidding aside, by the second set we got back upto nauseating volumes and I understand where Larry was coming from.  I found I couldn't hide from it either.

Brokedown was weak, it had nothing going for it.

Another great Deliciozo meal well ordered by Johnny.  The had no bread so we had to settle to sticks.  The salad was good.  Weather was real nice.  See you all next freak time, next Freak Pearl!

Who Medley!! Talk about your "Live at Freaks" I'm very pleased to hear this great tribute to Townsend/Who come through with Kev's fine indestructo leads that I'm sure are still shaking the very foundations of NYC. I'm off to watch Quadrophenia for the 99th time and envision a new realm of Deadsteins power through the eyes of a guitarist possessed to take on the world. Next week - bring the doubleneck and intro with VH's "Mean Streets"!! You dudes are the fkn best!

New work #: 800 243 6002 x147 Email atrister@tmcnet.com I hope Larry is feeling better..that was an unprecedented walk off leaving his guitar against his amp wide open to feed back and ruin the end of the song. I think a new deadstein rule should be if you must walk out during a song you are obligated to turn off your amp. Don't worry Larry, I'll just keep drinkin. Nice desolation row by the way.

Yes , it's true, I have received a rapturous gift from my beautiful and smart wife, Allison. It is a guitar that I have lusted after since I first saw it in Pete's hand, while holding my wife's hand (or something) in 1979 watching "The Kid's Are Alright" at the Balcony Theatre (now IMAX) in Huntington as a youth. It is a vintage re-issue Rickenbacker #1997PT: 21 frets, 3 vintage pick-ups, Rosewood fingerboard, Solid maple neck & semi-hollow body, vintage tailpiece & tuning machines, violin F- Hole, and super-cool FireGlo Sunburst finish. It was worth the wait. The genuine sound and unique feel is better than I ever imagined. I truly enjoyed it. Thanks Deadstein, for indulging me in the "test drive" of my new Axe. The nite had a wacky spin on it from the get-go (me on guitar, to say the least)((but what nite doesn't?)). Even with the re-arranged roster (Trister & Dave on Bass - TheGind on congas), Deadstein gets the Kind point across. L.L. Brent got a suspicious case of sonically induced vertigo. It was cured with an interesting combination of nicotine and face placement. Gotta love that kid. Speaking of a kid you gotta love...love to hate (I know, I know, but it's just not funny without the word 'hate') - Freakboy. He has, without question, gone beyond the point of no return. His larval and pupal stages of Freak are just a memory, there is no going back. His current, permanent stage of Freak is so freaky, that I don't quite understand it. Now that College Basketball is over, you might think he would buckle-down and get back to Freaky business, but that doesn't seem to be the case. He seems to have taken social disfunction and made it an art form. Paint me a masterpiece Freakboy!!!

Andy, we are not allowed to play Franks, if you recall Leo kicked us out for not tipping well enough. We may just have to go to the Lamppost and/or WT's. I still have a few Frank's style darts I utilize for reaming purposes.
