Larry B is sick and John Spitz fills in. Extremely weird in its flow.
It was such a weird night it deserves an extensive write up. I hope I'm up to the
task. Anyway, Larry called me at 3:00 telling me he's got the stomach flu and is
feeling really shitty. He wanted to change the night to Wednesday, but I couldn't
becuase of a meeting I had which was cancelled, so he tried to tough it out. Kevin
was nervous about the spread of Larry's germs but I think we all try to at least give it
the old college try.
Knowing his situation Larry called in the backup of John Spitz. It was a good move
but because of the last minute nature of it all, John could get equipment so Larry brough
him his real backup stuff which didn't help poor John. Trying to play out of
Brotman's amp, I would have walked out earlier! Actually, as we all say, you have to
appreciate John's effort. Itw as very kind of him to come down, and according to
Dave, one or two moments of singing in the Brokedown were as good as it gets.
There was such a weird karma in the room it was unbelievable
