It was an Andy Trister Deadstein birthday jam and he took on a bit of the song selecting for the night bringing in a few of the more obscure Jerry Garcia numbers such as Tough Mama and Twilight. Short of that we were missing Alan this night so I tried to project my inner Bob this night. I wore my clam diggers, or climbing pants and sandels and even broke out my nice tobacco sunburst start for the occasion. That was a nice change for me getting to use the hammy bar. I hadn't played anything but Rags the Guitar since I got it a few years ago.
We did play a Core-4 It Takes A Lot To Laugh, It Takes a Train to Cry as a warm-up/sound check before Andy got there, so we ready when he called for the Getaway --> Promised Land opener. It got us going but we had our rough moments also. This definitely was not a super smooth jam. The Dear Mr. Fantasy proved to be very powerful into a Morning Dew. More good stuff to come as we got two jams in 2016 during the Days Between.
