    Notes:

    • The sixth and last Monday night in a row I will be nice to see what a Tuesday has to offer I miss them.
    • Eight week of playing without a repeat. Kevin's getting tired of it. There are definitely songs I miss Playin'. Get it It would be nice to finish the year without a repeat and get prepared to accelerate into '97 by playing better than we ever have. 1996 has been the year to look at and appreciate the music we make and its ultimate potential. We can use 1997 to rise to the new level of executing the music with grace and dignity. Think the Dead started in 1965 and it wasn't until about 1971, 6 years later, that they really started to play and not just blast through the music. Lets get our jollies out with the no repeat stuff then take the bull by the horns and play some really cool music in 1997. This will be our year! Eh, what am I taking about. We'll just be rockin' pieces of crap.
    • Johnny "Spillboy" lives up to his reputation by performing his expertise with a full 32 oz. spill during the Fantasy. We don't call him Spillboy for nothing.
    • Scott was real clutch in buying Gyros for a pre-jam munch. It resulted in false hopes of playing more, maybe a whole list. We came close. Lost two songs, a Touch of Grey and Going Down the Road to end the first set, but we gained a free Good Night Irene in the Second Set. In the end it was good, I didn't get bloated and sick from gorging myself, half-time was enjoyable and we played lots of music, almost. Who is to complain? Even the Gyro meat that came up while you played was a small and almost enjoyable consequence.
    • There was more talk of eventual moving out of the studio and eventual pandemonium of the tell-tail Deadstein consistency. We haven't seen this ugly rumors head since the early days of this web Check out Tuesday, July 30, 1996 initial reference to nomadicism. You got to love the Deadstein web page evolution.
    • Freakboy had a headache and had trouble getting into initially but he eventually gave us some good dancing in the second set. He was getting his freaklegs back after baking a bit in the sunshine state. After all, there isn't much exercise in taking the elevator all day.
    • Music is the Overture to Mozart's The Marriage of Figaro. Enjoy.

The music was conspicuously inspired last night. It seems as if we were giving A-list treatment to C-list songs...good work. It seemed effortless. Kudos' to Freakboy for giving us the dancing we all know he's capable of giving. Boo's to Spillboy for not giving us the whooping-it-up we deserve and the only thing he's capable of giving. Thank you Scottso for the gyros and most important: baklava. Shame on Me & Brent for inexcusable taping carelessness, we lost the first 2 songs of the first set due to not stopping the tape during the Dennis 12-string clinic (auto flip). Sucks for us. I'll give the "no repeat" another try.

Very enjoyable. We did play "C" songs with an "A" attitude.

    First Set Comments:

Dennis joined in on his 12 string electric for the Deep Elem and Dear Mr. Fantasy.

Kevin prepared the first set to close with Touch of Grey and Goin' Down the Road. Larry Brent petered out a bit after the Dear Mr.Fantasy with a twelve string Dennis and we decided not play them at the start of the second set. Well do to an usually long half-time break, even without food, we didn't play them in the second set either. Think of it this way, they are still available for no repeat weeks 9, 10 and 11. We sound like CBS FM. You have to feel bad for Johnny because those are his perennial favorites. Dear Mr. Fantasy really got out there, away from the song and had some nice sustained, tubular, and I don't mean carillon,

The Tangled Up was played at a nice fast pace and we kept pace. It booked. Thin Man was pretty good.

I really had trouble getting my hands and sound going for the first several songs, for that I expres my deepest regrets. When it comes down to it Passenger was pretty hot..

1st 3 tunes were the best. I love that solid start, it's important. It sets the tone for the rest of the evening.

Gind, if you only saw your face when spillboy performed during fantasy. I know it was hard for you to concentrate by the looks of things. He's going for the 8th straight week of REPEAT

    Second Set Comments:

The Good Night Irene was not on the list but we had some extra time. It ended up being a fun song to do. We did it with pep and it prepared us for the end of the night. Kevin was wrong when he said it was only a good closer if your name was Irene.

The Black Muddy River was played with power and precision. It was dramatic as it should be. Over all, I like the second set better. I had a easier to of playing it.

     Half Time Food & Comments:

Scott was nice enough to buy Gyros and drinks and desserts for the band to enjoy before the jam as discussed during the previous week. This ended up being the main meal, with only minor noshing later on. The Gyros in the end weren't too good but the so call meat at the bottom of the pita was worth wading through the meaningless veggies. The yogurt sauce was very loose. The pre jam meal is good, it's more civilized and it make half-time more civilized. We only had small quantities of Drakes but the coffee up in Larry's office was a nice touch. Soon we'll be eating danish and playing mah-jong. "2 bam, 4 east." Oh' yea, without Kevin. Then again who are we to be civilized, when we are rockin' pieces of crap. I hear Johnny went to Flourent for a burger asprin but I have no news or independent verification that Flourent was eaten. I'd like to hear a report.

Coffe at half-time is really good. Its nice not getting disgustingly full at a jam. Eating before hand get my approval. It has so many positives to it if you think about it.

I'll give you verification: Flourent was eaten, and by all that's holy, I'll swear those are the best french fries in the known universe. Fboy had a hamburger and fries and he got me pecan pie with fresh schlag. That damn pie is manna from heaven. Made with the perfect amount of bourbon and karo syrup, perfectly complimented by a oozing mound of sweet cream ( that's what she said ). We are only kidding ourselves when we don't order from Flourent. I enjoyed the pre-show gyro as well, but to consider it a substitute and not a suppliment, is also to kid ones self.

Weather Comment: I did heat the room with a big blast before LG showed up. I was cold and I took extreme measures.

    Weather:

It was pretty nice in the room. While there was a chill to the air, there was no need for extreme heating alternatives. My hands were quite cold in the first set and it gave me trouble in physically plaing the guitar. Weather for the ride home was perfect.
