    Notes:

A fourth Monday night in a row. This is a trend that was to end after last week, but Larry Brent's new dental endeavors had their own plan which resulted in another Monday. No big deal. The future of Tuesdays and maybe a steady schedule is in limbo at this point, but if I know Larry we'll be playing Tuesdays consistently for a long time coming.

It was another week into the unknown with a "Six Weeks Without a Repeat" Let's see how long we can keep this up. I think we can go at least four more without getting totally wacky. Its amazing how normal this week's set was. Actually it's not tough when you play three song second sets. Its ironic because as you can see from last weeks discussions, we tried to start early and we did, about 6:50 p.m. But because of circumstances within our control, we started the second set about 10:25. It would be nice to play longer second sets.

I happened to have a few remnants in my jam-bag from a previous jam earlier last week that included a little Jack Daniel's bottle and a little effects thing-of-a-ma-jiggy. They both made for a slightly different night. I played with a bit of chorus to give a bit more authenticity and a delay to provide a bit more backup on my beleaguered solos. I can't see continuing to use it although it is fun. This stuff is just a bit too cheap and formaged.

Enjoy the Mozart, k.487, piano quartet in g minor. It's hot! If you had a good sound card it would sound pretty darn good.

I'm trying a new format with the pages this week. I'm putting in submission forms for all the sections and let each person comment. The general comments I will put in this Notes section. Please feel free to comment on each section. This give each of you as much opportunity to contribute to the bulktitude of this besides me. It will make it easier for me to post after the jam if I don't have the writing responsibilities. In any case, the Deadstein web must continue to evolve, so this is something new. Try to help out.

I have to note that Kevin seemed to play exceptionally well during most of the night.

Thank you for the acknowledgment, but no one is more suprised than me. I have no idea how it came together ( The JD might have helped ). It's impossible to figure out the correct algorithm for a successful jam- -but that's Deadstein. Generally: very enjoyable evening. I ,of course, wouldn't mind more music, but I am not troubled by the way things are going. The real problem is not managing the time we have, it's that we don't have enough time. This Spillboy is quite a character, while I can't believe his consistent lack of muscular control, I really like his participation in the jams: no one deserves a big "whooping-it-up" after a hot lead than LarryB and applause after a song really is the proper response. The Freakboy Problem: I am going to compare it to the Jerry Problem. Nothing was more frustrating than watching Jerry stand there like a yutz (with the greatest potential in the world) and not play a lead. Thus, I present Freakboy, the freakiest kid in the world, with everything set up for him to shine to his most brilliant, not participating. Not even in the same room ! Please, put things in perspective and twirl.-----Seven weeks comin' up

I thought Dave Pullano was going to tryout for the Band, what happended. If he's good enough I heard he was going to move to NYC and get a job for Alta Recycling.

I forgot to mention that there was no Rich Brotman at this jam which also gave a different sound for this week.

I liked the jam. I don't love this comment forum though. As it may invoke different simultaneous directions of chatter, it is difficult to "re" browse. I find myself having to "re" read all the previous posting in what is now 3 or 4 different discussion areas. A fine effort on the part of LG. Experimentation is always good. However, I wasn't sure which forum to discuss this thread........comments?

Good news everyone. I just checked Kevy's submisssions to his Furniture Store's Web Page and Dave Pullano is oving to NYC and is in the market to furnish his studio. I would just suggest that Deadstein first audition him to see if he's qualified to play with us. He couldn't possibly sing a Victim like me. It would be a shame if Dave, I hope I may be bold enough to call him that, moved to NYC and had no where to go.

Same Thing was groovy, I like my lead, a little delay can really help. We played some songs like the Queen Jane enjoyable fast. A good job by Larry M. in pushing us out of any dulldrums.

    Second Set Comments:

It was nice to see that guy on Capitol Hill waiting to go the Whitehouse and his wife, and I'm not talking the Clintons, sit down and listen to us. I could sense they enjoyed us, which is more that I can say about the Freakboy who was force from the room by my supposed debauchery of a Victim. It was very hot nevertheless.

It was only a half hour but it had it's moments. As bad as the Victim sing may have been it was rock solid as far as Victims go. By the time we got to Foolish it looked Like brent has his full share of the evening. It must have been a full day for him and it show in the music. We played well with a kind karma.

Yes, we always do step-up play when there is a guest in the room--no exception here. Terrapin: Solid B+. Victim: There was a problem with Vocals? Foolish:Passed out-haven't heard it yet.

What will it take to keep Johnny in the room instead of hermiting outside. I say "LET JOHNNY SING" I would love to hear him sing lead vocal on the tune of his choice. What do you say Johnny? Victim was in fact jammin.By the time foolish was being played L.B. wasn't the only one who wishes he was zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. Where's the coffee?

     Half Time Food & Comments:

Flourent for burgers, Jonathan had the Thanksgiving turkey feast and did a superb taking care of us to his full credit. He rules that place like Charles Nelson Riley ruled the Rizt. The meal was supplemented by the demented Jonathan Spillboy selection of ancillaries.

Personally my burger was way too well done but I like the mew larger, more commercial English muffin. Fries were first rate and the mashed potatoes, while they do not have the greatness of the fries, they are very good. I'll let others comments on the no salt chips. At least he tried. SWpillboy may not be the quicker picker-upper but he did run to the store to buy paper towels. I'll give him credit for that.

Great hummos, baba, deserts and cold beverages or maybe you would like a hot middle eastern high test coffee?Mustafa is the man!!!! If you don't like the idea be nice.

I'll have to check if meat is on the menu. If not gyros at Karavas, or Gyro II by msg ( favorite after show gyro joint) great white sauce. Do we need majority ruling on this one? If so please post your response. Thanks s.g.

Scott, you seem very enthusiastic about this weeks food for a man who says (or his wife says) he won't be there for food this week. Pot Luck Dinner at school??? Get to Jam by 8:15, no time for 1/2 time food?? But, I do vote for Gyro II after the show. I was eating that stuff in 1977, wow! I'm sure it's the same oil from '77 for those gr eek fries (little quarter shaped things)

oooops, your so very right Mr.Menaker. Idon't know about after the jam, We may have to stop there or someplace else before we get to the studio if the potluck dinner just doesn't do it for us. Concept wise maybe next week or there after. Have a good weekend. p.s. Nadines was terrific."cajun meatloaf" j.c.was spying on us through the window on his way home.

    Weather:

It was very comfortable inside. Someone turned the jet heater on for a second to get more heat but it was terrible. Had a little rain on the way home.
