Another small night with the big guns of Trister and Larry missing, but Rich was back for the first time in a while and who else was there Teffiliin but "To-Fill-In" Ken. We won't be able to say that anymore as his manifest destiny draws him back west to the windy city.  His presence will be greatly missed but at least he got to exploit the night and his nickname Tefillin for the entire night with a classic Carrol's strat.  Bill Sloan was the only guest who got to play just one song for the late arriving Dave.

There was no taping as I was recovering from my first bout with gout, but at least the green copper metal-poisoning I experience from my own guitar playing washes off.  Kevin almost scared me to death.  Now I know I turn green when I play hard.  I'm like the Incredible hulk.

It was humerous how Kevin condensed 3 verses into his first verse of the Devil and kept going to the break after every verse.  We had a few mess-ups where we weren't In-Synch and we fell apart, but we are a "Freak band" and not a "boy band"

Speaking of which, Freaky Delta-Forces today pulled off operation "Pseudo Freedom" by assalting the 6th floor TV studios where our equipment was being held hostage.  Most was recovered with only a few small casualties but a great job by Rich, Tom and Kevin in pulling off the mission and rescuing our stuff.

Till next I'm when I'm not sure.

I got rear ended on the way down last night. I'm ok but my nice new car needs some work. By the time the cop was finished writing it up it was already 7 and I was still 30 miles into Ct so I turned around.

It was a good jam, loose and relaxed, Ken had some fantastic solos- and folks - he harmonizes well. Brokedown palace thanks to him was one of the best I ever heard. I enjoyed singing the songs I do not get a chance to, like Candyman, and SBTM, but the inspiring Brick in the Wall>Shakedown St was almost mythical. The one song that The Gind did not remember was Eyes, and it was the 1st time in a long time that we played the beat correctly on the Chorus. It bounced along nicely, like it was supposed to. IN OTHER NEWS - I am out for next week, but tell me which day ASAP, and I'll book at Carroll's for you.

Nobody f*@ks with Trista's car. Missed you guy's last night. Deadstein carried yet another incarnation of the term groove. Heart Of Gold was one of the staple tunes Ken & I used to play way back when. Although it never had the drive it took on last night.Any day next week looks good for me.

Oh, how I will miss my little Chesky!! He has provided Deadstein with some well needed substance. I think we all benefited from it, I know I did. And boy, did he rock his tuchas off last nite. Without question, that was some of the grooviest stuff we have done in the last couple of months. He is off on the adventure of his life, the goodness that awaits him and his family is awesome and enviable. I wish him all the mazel and nachas he can bear. He is truly worthy of it. Toil, influence and be joyous my Chassid, I hope to see you soon.

Last nite was the actual embodiment of our credo -- Kindness, Friendship, Comedy & Music. Long live Deadstein, Deadstein is one.

Hey, I look forward to our weekly Freakfest tonight. Unfortunately, I'll be in Morristown, NJ until about 6:45 and leaving for Caroll's immediately thereafter. I should arrive by 8:00 p.m. for almost a full night but it won't give me the opportunity to tape. Oh, well, it will get me that much more excited to get the next week going on tape, or hard-disk as Kevin so appropriately points out. I now have another 8 tracks at my disposal if I want to lug in my friend's Bill 8-Track deck that I can synchronize with my tape deck, or recorder as Kevin so appropriately points out.

Next time I know we have a full band, maybe we can reserve the room for an additional hour, at 6:00 so I know I can get in early and be set up for a better taping session. Eight extra tracks would really be a new big help. I'll alway want to separate the drums next time a lot more, try to get better isolation and try to mic the piano better. Finally, if we happen to go these few extra yards for taping sake, It would be great for Kevin to provide a setlist to us all a week before the jam so we all have the opportunity to practice the actual songs, give them a fresh listen and workout so we can make our taping experience the nest it can be. All the quality equipment in the world doesn't compare to playing the songs well. Just a couple of thoughts as I contemplate tonight jam.

I have both Larr B's and Andy T.s CD's they haven't gotten yet, so don't fret and look forward to them. I like the Other One Wharf Rat, timpanny and all, unfortunately, the Wharf Rat got cut, I ran out of megabytes but I transitioned into some song in A major during the jam on the CD's so it sound and feels good as if we never ran out of space.

How did everyone like the drums space from a few weeks ago, didn't that sound good?

Right on the $$ Larry. The drums>space was textbook, and right out of any post Brent concert I have.Excellent work one and all, and the OO>Wharf Rat was a mythical beast, one for the ages. Further, I made a CD - Tommy Pics Volume 1 of about 75 minutes of our music. If you want a copy, let me know, and I'll burn it for you..1/2 Step, BE Women, Same Thing, Bird Song, Let It Grow, OO>WRat, Attics I had trouble picking only one disc, Larry has done a nice job, and I think that we play up a little knowing that we are going on such a HQ recording.
