Another night with a full band in Studio A of Smash Studio.  We had a surpise guest of Sandy Feder and his band Butter as they sumbled into Studi A to check it out.  What a Freak.  I'm on a taping jamming roll where I feel I'm on tour.  I'm jamming, sleeping, working, mixing, jamming packing, lugging, taping, packing, lugging, etc. over and over again.  It can't last for too much longer so get the good music while the getting is good.

I think we had another very good night in Studio A.  The tape setup went smoothly as I get into a groove.  I had an insert cable on Banjo's mike and didn't record another background vocals.  Therefore the setup was simple, mikes into tapedeck.  Let's see if it's better sounding than last weeks.  I don't think the playing was better but maybe we'll get a better tape.  Personally I doubt it.  I don't think the better guitar amps will make up for the rest that made last weeks tape so good.  That was only a few days ago.  Wow.

There is still a super hot Deal from last week I haven't even heard yet.  We had some big stuff including a fairly rambunctious, ambitious and well executed Good Lovin, Let It Grow, Good Lovin.  The Good Loving was cool with drum solos and Banjo jam.  Mostly good stuff and there's nothing wrong with that.

The How Sweet It Is was terrible. I like that Soundcheck idea to give Kevin a song to knock the cobwebs out of his head. I'm glad I wasn't playing during it to take any responsibilities.

One last thing, Anyone interested in seeing the new and improved Elevensteen play acoustic, we are playing a 45 minute set in Rockville Center this Friday. Catch me on Mandolin, there's nothing like it. We have four of our old Deadstein bretheren playing during it. We could legitimately call that Deadstein in some respects. Yea I gooto add Menaker Back to the Home page first thing in the morning. Chop. Chop. I gotto get right to that. I like Banjo scotch taped up there anyway.

Not for nothing Larry, but the How Sweet was you suggestion, therefore you are ultimately responsible.

In TheGind's defense...taping, schlepping, scanning, posting, mixing. He must be punch-drunk. I'll cut him some slack, even with under-reporting of the greatness of Deadstein's last nite's jam and the over-reporting of his extracurricular distractions. We had some sick, higher level jamming and control happening in that room. I like space travel.

The Scarlet>Estimated>Eyes>BIODTL was freakin amazin! I thought we were doing 3 beats on the Beat it - what did we do 7? it worked. The jam at the end of 1/2 step soared! Ramble on Rose was great too. Best Estimated we ever did, I thought. Had fun with the Pigpenish rap. Almost cannot wait to hear it. I second the emotion of playing a warmup to get out the cobwebs.

The Beat It On Down The Line was one of the best things we ever played. There were other great moments, too. How Sweet It Is can be just fine, provided we agree on the chords. It's good to hear that there are plans to fix the piano in Studio A shortly.

See you again in a few...
