The date of the next jam is scheduled for Thursday, April 12, 2001 at at Carroll's Instrument Rental on 41st street bet 8th & 9th avenue 7pm - 11pm

Another night at Carroll's on 41st Street.  While comfortable and casual, the big, hard room provided lots of feedback and reverb.  Couple this with a raucous Promised Land -> Greatest Story opener and you have Larry B. looking for a quite corner to hide   Being no place to hide, Deadstein made the least to the most of it and forged on.

The night was filled with good moments and bad moments as we tried to find our level.  In the end it was there for the taking and we took nibbles at it.

The whole band was there with the exception of Andy who was a no show.  Johnny and Ken rounded out the peanut gallery and the rest was just us, Tommy Banjo and his cigar.  It was a nice day out, little traffic and it was the Mets' season opener with an exciting 6-4 win a Turner field in 10 innings.  Duke won the NCAA Tourney last night and the Yanks won their season opener in boring fashion.

Sorry about the spam on GSET! I neede a refresher..will not happen again. I had alot of fun last night. The music was grate! Larry and boys, thanks agian for a poignant Stella Blue! Johny, Johnny, Jonny, Freakboy - you were right on last night. Some of those harmonies were awe inspiring. Throw that in with your performance from the week before, and I would say you are hitting a stride. Speaking of which, real nice discs. You are right, gind, vocals out of the mix, but it is still hot and disc 2 is wonderful. Speaking of hot, Atomic Wings was fine fine fine. I vote for next week too.

I was watching the TV show "Blind Date" (Channel 11 at 11:00 pm) and they hooked up this normal Jewish girl with this cowboy type from Texas but to everyone surprise, he's also Jewish. This is constantly shocking to her because he such a cowboy character.

As the date progrsses this Jewish cowboy breaks out a guitar and starts serinading this girl. The TV show pops a bubble over her head saying "Help, girl trapped on a date with Garth Brookstein."

Deadstein has always been a trend-setter the Semetic Musicstein industry.

I love that show. Haven't been awake at 11 lately, but my fave was the 2 bowsers that got naked and did it in the hot tub. I like the bubbles too. Scotty, did you ever notice the car of choice is an expedition?

SnappySnapungollo....you may not know him...he was a Gaanesvortian disciple. Part of the old millennium philosophy, and a hard core partier. Not a lightweight like me. My older and less wise, less hair, and less talented brother. A request for a miracle? what yr? (since you think that I only know music from before the Carter administration ;^))

Wow, you are high maintenance. Did you want flowers and candy also? Jeez....I get laid with less effort.

OK May I please have a miracle from 1983 or later? And was there a rumor of a disc from 3/37 performance? Larry sent me some convoluted freedrive info that I was not able to deal with.

No, I do not require anything of the sort...you have satisfied my whimsey! I do not have anything dated 3/37, but I can come up with something for a polite gentleman.

Andy, I do have and will have a copy of the 3/27 Deadstein CD for you. The guitars are loud and clear on it and is a fine sounding CD. While not quite the Miracle that Tommy B. can provide, the fact you get anything at all from me is sufficient, in the spirit of Passover.

Tom: If the room isn't setup until they set it up, you should have them set it up so the 2 PA speakers are straddling and slightly infront of the drum set facing the band. This way, the singers can face the drummer without having the mics pointing into the PA speakers. Get them to give the drummer a wedge so he can hear himself sing and it should help with the PA setup.

Just a thought.

the words of songs and the beauty of the music brought me to places that i would have never been on my own. very spiritual realizations that were epic in proportion. it was not just me that got me there, it was all of us together as a community. it wasn't one person's responsibility it was all of us together. we reached the highest highs and it doesn't have to end w/garcia's death. we can still celebrate and honor the vision that created the gd. a vision that sought to bring the world ahead a step or two. listen to the music, it still shines. it speaks of enlighted idealism, truth and honor. it taught me much. it's time for the band to listen to their own message.
