Trying Some Rarely Played Ballads

Coffee was a last minute call out and Drew was on his own on the drums. he took advantage and really played steady and hard. urning the week we through out a few songs to try including several ballads Andy was singing including Twilight, China Doll, If I had the World to Give and So Many Roads. I liked the China Doll the best of them all. We also tried the Unbroken Chain which didn't get past the verses in enough coherency to make the recordings. One day? I doubt it, but we did give it a go. There were some cool moments of good hard playing including the Dancin' in the Streets into Franklins Tower. That had speed and direction that was played with some confidence and flare. I think we ended pretty strong as the Tangled Up Moved and Groves and the How Sweet swang which the China Cat meowed into the midnight hour. For a last song it was a great effort.

This week I had my Red Squier Strat and if felt and sounded pretty good. It's a comfortable guitar for me. Andy also had his Start, Kevin on his Rickenbacker and Drew was on the kit Bill Kreutzman played when he once rehearsed at Carroll's.

Freak Out!
