It was another abbreviated Deadstein evening.  With No Larry B. and no Trister.  This left Dave to play guitar and a few top 40 classics.  Scott was his own blurry lonesome on the drums but he managed to stay alive.  I didn't think he was going to make it as he started blurry and seemed to get foggier over time.  It wasn't till he heard the like of He Ain't Give You None that it seemed that he got his second wind.

I taped 8-track and it seemed to go very well.  I tried my new Crown PZM mic on Rich's closed piano top to see how that worked.  It sounded good, and monitoring in the room also seemed pretty good last night.  Personally it was fun to play lots of leads I never get to play.  I feel like I had some nice grooves and communication with Kevin which kept up pretty tight throughout the night, even through the many verses of He Aint Give You None.  It was a fun night for me but I would love to see the full band one night soon.  There is nothing like that big Deadsteain experience you get from the full band.  It was a night filled with GarBand, Doobie Brothers and Beatles.

Till we meet again, whenever we decide, so speak up Deadstein as Banjo says.

I might have been blurry eyed (and I was) but those sticks hit the skins just where I wanted them to. Had a great time. Hoping after the holidays & Phil, to have a full band, full sound. Listned to last weeks cd, quality is amazing. Key's sound bright & plentiful. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your families. For those that can make it down, here is the info re a gig that I'm doing. had alot of fun last night. Never thought that we were working. Almost busted a vein on Listen to the Music. Glad to see we aborted Benny & the Jets, it just did not feel right. We did have alot of good grooves, and Rich had to be in his glory; his keyboard work has not been showcased like that in quite some time. Everyone take a bow - you all played well last night, I thought. See you in December. Scotty - that looks like a grate showcase! Wish I could be in Brooklyn on that night, who knows...er...they paying you for play? or has the novelty still got you? Good work on all the participants part,

If I had my druthers, I'd druther play on Thursday. Monday is problematic.

I think last night went really well considering we had to get used to an unusual line-up. As always, there are peaks and valleys. The peaks had some terrific grooves, and without the valleys, there's no place for the river to run.

Happy Thanksgiving To All.

I'm good Wednesday, so is Kev and Rich, How about Dave. He's our fourth, Andy? I thinks that's our only potential. Nevertheless, Wednesday is booked at Carolls.

Well, What a special weekend with Drumming Dave training up to Beantown to give Steele a big hello and a big appetite that I love and repect. Also, thanks to Dave for that 4th row center Phil tik which had all my Orpheum buds quite jealous over. Dave, you rule!! Deadstein was mentioned a few hundred times within the confines of the scoppy Orpheum. Dave again bringing nothing but pos and good cheer to such rippin shows!!Until the next gravy boat!

and the epicenter of that domain is the orpheum---you better have a ticket for that front and center section or you'll feel the cold, brownie fragranted hand of the man in charge as he grabs your neck and gently explains why it aint gonna happen no matter how good of a dancer you are rudolff.....not only that but great phil shows to boot---can we change the name of the band to--"the philesteins"--'cause we're more like them than the dead---warren haynes and jimmy herring ripped out great extented, raunchy, distorted yet controlled leads on a 20 minute viola lee" and "get back"( i believe i read phil lips during this song he said "hey now deadstein can play get back 'cause we did it, does anyone know "we're an american band"? on the night before had a crytical-other one-crytical, unbroken chain, low spark---woo hoo...and as a special treat there was donny "hutch"-----all that and great eats at "kellys" (i'll never eat a hot dog again unless its on a toasted and buttered roll)----hey steele i went back to the dim sum place for clams/blk bean sauce and they had the lobster shu mei
