  • Loser
  • She Belongs To me
  • Duprees Diamond Blues
  • Looks Like Rain
  • Deep Elem Blues
  • Turkey in the Straw jam
  • Lucky ol' Sun
  • Music Never Stopped

Second Set

  • Help on the Way -->
  • Slipknot!
  • Estimated Prophet -->
  • Black Peter
  • Hell in a Bucket
  • It's All Over Now Baby Blue

The date of the next jam is scheduled for Tuesday, July 24, 2001 at PSEUDO Studios at the corner of Houston and Broadway over the Pottery Barn, 6th Floor, 7pm - 11pm. Come by or listen to us live over the Internet RealAudio on  www.SugarMegs.org .

Live From PSEUDOIt's our third night in PSEUDO and it's beginning to feel like home.  Get in early and enjoy some pastrami and a hot dog with your compadres. Less to do, less to set up but still lots to do and lots to setup.  Nevertheless, when we got going we broke into a Stranger that had a good jam and a good end so there is no argument to be made about it.  Very few guests were there but apparently a record turnout tuning in across the country.  At least Steve tuned in and a first, a posting during the show, and two of them to boot.

I'm listening to the tape right now and it sounds pretty good, so close to great but the DAT level's are way-high and I'm amazed it sounds as good as it does. It breaks up a bit.  It's good though.  The drum separation is great, the best I have ever heard it.  You can really hear what each drummer is doing.  It's too bad the levels are too high because the mix is nice.  Good news, as I'm listening, it sounds like Peter discovered the levels being too loud  during the She Belongs To Me and it sounds okay.  No I am wrong, we just go quiet for a few seconds and moved on, Oh well.

I got the new equipment listing I'll be putting up from now on, what the heck.  Once it's set and copied from week to week it will be easy to maintain.

There were some real nice musical moments including a hot Music Never Stopped.  Excellent Estimated and a nice Minglewood Blues.

With the whole Realaudio thing over the Internet we should really start our show officially at 8:00 for people tuning in.  Anything before it would merely be a soundcheck but a 8:00 someone should introduce us and we break into our first song.  Whatever that song is we should make an effort to hit the 8:00 starting time with a song meeting the time slot and have 3 hours of strong music.  Now that we have the  audience of 4 we shouldn't take that 10' O'clock break but rather do a drums /space and get our break that way. If anyone wants to do a talk show, pre-jam show with JV and Bradshaw, feel free to produce a show.  I want to hear the Kevin - Tefillin Ken talk show lead in to Deadstein.  A show where beards and burps are welcome.

Till next Tuesday in Pseudo Studios.  Try to get your friends and family to listen at www.SugarMegs.org.

Nice Try Ted! hopefully, next time, plus in person! Steve glad you enjoyed it! Dark Star Orchestra? You flatter us. thanks!

Good jam last night. Loser was fulfilling. Lucky Old Sun is always fun. Help>SLip>Estimated was grate, but the harmonies on Black Peter were dark, man, real dark.

Good clandestine pre-dinner with Scotty-boy, and seeing Lisa, who had awfully nice things to say. See you all Tuesday.

i am currently doing a traditional indian rain dance in the hope of affecting Saturday's forecast. I will also be very late tomorrow, perhaps absent. I am working till 7 and then feel I should have dinner with my family since I've been away since friday morning.

Larry, that is not nice. You cannot say one thing to me, and then write another. Line-up your feelings so that they are the same inside and out. Bad Vibes for Saturday is a terrible thing. I am leaving for The Shore on Monday AM...do you want to leave me with such a mess that I am unable to have a clean house before vacation?

Saturday is going to be one of the nicest days of the summer. High pressure will build in late Thurs and it's all Canadian cool dry air after that for the weekend.

You can dance all you want; the weather will be great.

Tommy, I have been totally straight with and completely clear about my feelings about this undertaking and it's scheduling. I am not being two-faced nor have I at any time misrepresented my feelings about this day to you or anyone else involved at all. I told you about this 2 months ago when mailorder went out, have been hoping for rain everyday since and that has not changed at all.

No, Scott it is the thing that will not die - til Sunday....Mailorder may have gone out 2 months ago, but My party has been in place for longer - right? Larry, I did not say 2 faced. But yesterday you said you ARE coming. I know that you are, but would feel better when I look around on Saturday and found that we were all enjoying ourselves and not wish we were somewhere else. You are one of 8 other dudes I look at (Johnny included) each time we play to see what the vibe is. I want the vibe to be consistent all around. The Weather is guaranteed...Angela and I have worked hard to make sure that the elements are in place for everyone there to have a grate time..Deadstein completes the picture.

Tommy,

Let Larry enjoy the Phil show in peace and without guilt. Your party and Deadstein will get by in fine fashion with or without Larry. Look what happened at a party on 8/2/91, almost 10 years ago. Deadstein managed to play and thrive without any drummers. No matter what Deadstein does we will have a good vibe, it's in our nature. We have to take the story presented to us, read it and flip a page. It will give you and your friends more of an opportunity get more out of what they came to see anyway. Tommy Banjo with his fist in the air screaming, "And your man, And your man, Andy your man, etc., he is gone."
