Eye Freak Therefore I am
It was a late post for me but I was having trouble digesting the Virgils.  About a week later my colon is feeling pretty good again ready to face what we did in Deadstein.  I therefore opened my guitar case, got out the Eye-balled setlist and did the posting.  Good thing I pre-posted to let you guys talk in my laziness.  I've said it before, but who would figure in our old age that our food consumption would be the unhealthiest thing we do during a jam.  We are growing old.

I think everyone was there, if I recall correctly.  Tefillin-Ken was our only guest although there was some freaky pop musician who was checking out out jamming space before the set.  Larry said last week that he was taking the week of due to obsessive-compulsive volumephobia but he faced his demons and and arrived at the end of the Eyes of the World.  The irony of it is that the music, from a volumephobic perspective was the same as last week, but each week has it's only angle and surprises and Larry cherished it as opposed to languished in it.  Go figure.  Andy was clutch enough to persevere and  jam while catching a super early flight in the morning.  That task was made that much harder by the fact he had a half-ton boar in his stomach at the time.  I wouldn't want to sit next to him when the put a terrible sausage patty in front of him.

I also had a weird Deadstein night because instead of going home and posting after the jam I went to my brother's apt in the city because I was playing acoustic guitar for my niece's (4 year's old) kindergarten class on Tuesday morning.  I was pretty nervous about it going into it but by the time I got there and was acclimated to the setting it performed really well.  I played a This Little Light Of Mine, Puff the Magic Dragon, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, This Old Man, Apples and Bananas, Down by the Bay and Wiiloughby, Wallaby, Woo.  I played really well and it was a great experience.

We had a few issues to work on to make the songs more correct.  One being the Loose Lucy, it has more of a staccato rhythm to it as opposed to the ploddingness Deadstein does.  It's something to think about for the next time we do it.  The Ship of Fools should really be done a whole step down from where we do it.  So if Andy want to transpose it on paper, I'm game.  Finally, we did okay on the Unbroken Chain but Larry says he has a better write-up of it so I look forward to that.

Till next Thursday.

We are currently scheduled to jam on next Thursday, as it states on the page but my Wednesday night meeting was cancelled which was precluding us from playing on Wednesday. I know Johnny wants to do Wednesday, and Pugsly, because he going to Florida on Thursday so for his sake we may want to poll eachother to see if you want to switch, I'm good both nights. I do the posting when I get home I think. I'm still burping up the Virgils.

I'm up for Wednesday. I'm going to see Steele and Pauly Pos in Florida. It would be nice to have some fresh Deadstein vibes to share with them.

Some pretty significant stuff happened to me yesterday that I thought I'd share with everybody. First of all, and most impacting, I cut my hair. After 15 years of long hair and 10 years of ponytail, I figured it was time for a change. I loved my long hair, but it had served it's purpose. Jerry's dead and I hadn't worn it down since I saw him last, and wearing it back in a ponytail was a poor compromise in order to infiltrate the establishment. The effort to maintain was not worth the benefit anymore, thus I give you 'Kevy's Head 2000' - Get Into It!!

Second; a friend of mine, Julius, who I might have mentioned to some of you over the past couple of years, died yesterday. He was an old man I became friends with about 10 years ago, when he walked into my store to sell me pens. He was a very cosmic/kind/spiritual person in my world. This guy basically had nothing. No family, no money, no home, just a love of life and people, but he managed to give me Pos, usually when I needed it most. He consistently would show up out-of-the-blue when I was not feeling well emotionally and 'Share the light - not master'. I always felt it was 'more than coincidence' and I will miss him. The wheel is turning and you can't slow down.

After much talk about what night were playing next week, Wednesday seemed to be the day UNTIL LAST NIGHT. As I was talking to The New Bass Player Last Night, Lisa informed me of the famous Parent Teacher Night Meeting For Wednesday. SOOOO Thursday It Is.

I'm back from the city of angels just in time for the weather to turn sour again. Heard you had a wonderful week; it was raining out there. Sorry about your friend Kev; he's selling pens to Jerry now. The good news is they're probably free in heaven. Anyway, since you are all SPOC I will reiterate that Wednesday is NEVER good for me, unless it's an emergency. That is the weeknight I spend with my children and I strive to remain consistent in that endeavor. If I really need to change it I can but I don't like to. Thany you.

Thank you, Scotty boy. Was Monday a great jam or what? I had ten hours of flying time this week to analyze the music and man it was good. We're in a good groove right now and I am jiggy with it. Poland spring rules.

Don't forget the new, improved Jason who was a guest. He's a Scottish exterminator that I met at Bandito's in Rockland county the night before and he stopped by between jobs. I just hope he wasn't on his way to Virgil's when he left. By the way, I had no digestive repercussions from that stuff although I'm in no hurry to order it again.
