  • Notes:

    • This was the first Tuesday we played in seven weeks. I'm sure a record in the annals of Deadstein.
    • In addition, this was the ninth and final week of playing without a repeat. Boy does Kevin have the world at his finger tips to give us as hot of a night as we can play. He could even select a gig type of set. Let's see what he does to make sure he doesn't disappoint. Knowing this week was the last without a repeat meant something to me as I was playing songs. It was a bit sentimental.
    • There was no Dennis, no Brotman and no other guests.
    • There was a spooky moment when Kevin's bass picked up a radio station very clearly. That happens sometimes and in and of itself is nothing to write about. What was weird was the fact that the subject of the radio's discussion was basically the same discussion we just had in the room.
    • It was the sixth night of Hanukkah yet Deadstein didn't even mention it. It's a shame it slipped out minds.

I beg to differ on the Hanukkah omission. If you consult your Official Deadstein Setlist Flyer you will see a more than adequate mention and celebration of the Festival of Lights. Overall another extremely enjoyable evening. The playing (although with relatively weak songs) was considerably strong. The vibe in the room was truly warm, possibly due to the absence of everyone except the Mighty 6. I really am enjoying those things. I also think the 9 WNR was an important growing and cleansing exercise. It gave us a break from trying to come up with suggestions to make things better, and gave us a new perspective and appreciation for our extensive repertoire. Don't worry, there will be no disappointments in future setlists. You will love them even better.

What has happened to the Pork Rinds?, they are so flakey that they almost choak you if you breath trying to eat them. I love them and they are my favorite snack. Please do something. I am refering to the Uncle Joh'our Original Pork Rinds. I have been eating them for years.

You really got to love the way we've been playing...with authority The Freakboy... I mean Capeboy problem is more troubling than anyone can imagine. Shrieking like a banshee and neuro-hemorrhaging are just the tip of the iceberg.

     Half Time Food & Comments:

Larry B. and I had a desire to head cross town to pick up Second Ave. Deli. We both had pastrami on rye and a hot dog. It a classic. Supplemented by pickles and Dr. Browns Cherry soda. It was a delight and the trip lead to a better second set. It probably why the Ripple is so cool. The other had Flourent but I have no comment on that food or who had what or how it was. It ironic that this is the first Tuesday In I know how many weeks but I don't want to look it up at the top of the page (If I just looked it up I would not have had to waste so much time typing this meaningless sentence. You get to the bottom of this page and you just want to hang on. Jack Daniel's and spicy pork rinds made for a burning sensation during the first set.

You know when food is envolved Scott's name always comes up, and this time is no exception. Donuts, donuts, donuts!! Not only were they fresh, right out of Dizzy's Izzy, but they are the traditional Hanukkah treat. (The Gind is corrected again). Thank you Scott for the yumminess

    Animated WeatherWeather:

It was pretty cold in the studio but I didn't feel it too much. It didn't bother me. There was a significant kerosene blast to the air that gave us warmth but filled the air with death.
